I want a strong brand →Below are four pages from our own brand guidelines. Not a sample from a made-up client, but the rules we run on ourselves. You get exactly this kind of document.
01 · Brand

Single color on a purple backgroundThe dot is the only colored element in the brand and carries the whole accent. That is why it must never change color or be removed.
02 · Color palette
Five values, nothing in between. The lighter purple exists only because the full one has a contrast of 2.7 on black and can't be read.
03 · Type
Bricolage has no italic, so a serif face carries it instead. Without this rule, everyone would handle it their own way.

Never stretchGuidelines are useful mainly for what they forbid. Without those limits, a brand falls apart within a year.
The sample comes from the real RESULTY guidelines. Yours will have the same structure, but its own values.
Logo and visual identity are only the first part. You get the logo in variants for web, print and social media, a color palette with exact values, and typography including rules for when each weight is used. The fact that a brand feels the same at every contact with a customer is documented in research by the Nielsen Norman Group.
Brand guidelines hold the whole thing together. It is a document you hand to a designer, a print shop or a new person on the team, and you don't have to explain anything. Tone of voice does the same for copy: how we write, how we address people, what we never say.
Competitive analysis is the first step, because an identity only makes sense against something. We look at how the competition in your field looks and speaks, and we look for a spot where nobody stands yet. Out of that comes the Marketing strategy: where your customers are and what will get their attention.
You get 2 to 3 directions to choose from, each with a different feel and positioning, not one proposal to approve. Rebranding support handles the opposite: keeping what customers already know about the brand and changing only what holds it back. Where an identity shows up the most is something we cover in the article on a company website and under landing page.
What it costs
These are not packages to pick from, where the cheaper one leaves you short. Basic is a finished, usable brand. The complete identity adds the rules that let someone other than you use it.

It makes sense once more than one person works with your brand: a print shop, an agency, a new colleague. Without rules, everyone reads the brand their own way, and after a year it looks different everywhere.
Redesigning an existing brand costs the same as new branding, from 349 €, because the amount of work is comparable. You will find an overview of all services in the pricing.
A logo is one mark, a brand is a set of decisions that hold even when you are not in the room. When all you have is a logo, every new material is a fresh negotiation: which color, which typeface, which tone. After a year you have five versions of the same thing and not one of them looks like the previous one.
A brand is what someone remembers after the third contact, not the first. That is why it pays to write down even the things that seem obvious: when the logo must not change, which shade is the right one, how we address people. Those rules then work without you.
Brand guidelines, the final files in every format and a short walkthrough on how to use the brand. The files are yours, with no licensing limits. You can hand them to any designer, print shop or new person on the team without explaining anything, it is all in the guidelines.
We don't keep source files as insurance that you will stay with us. If you ever decide to continue with someone else, you leave with everything.
When you don't yet know who you are selling to. An identity answers the question of who you want to look different from. Until that question is answered, even the best logo is just a nice picture. At that point it makes sense to start with what you actually sell and to whom, and come back to the identity later.
The same goes when the only problem is that nobody finds you. That is not a brand question, it is a question of visibility in search. Branding will raise your price at that moment, not the number of inquiries. We would rather say this at the start than after the invoice.
