Custom online store

An online store that actually sells

Your online store has to be fast, easy to navigate and flawless on mobile. We pick the right platform for you, whether that is Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom build, so the store fits your business exactly.

An order that can be completed

A website convinces, an online store collects the money. The difference between them is one screen where the payment either goes through or it does not. Everything else is built around it. We wrote up what a page that is meant to sell should look like in our article on the landing page that converts.

An online store from us means a custom design with no template, a connected payment gateway (card, GoPay, PayPal or bank transfer), an admin panel for managing products, a checkout built for mobile, technical SEO for products and categories, and connected order tracking.

The payment gateway is the only part that keeps costing you after launch. Every provider charges a fee per card transaction, and Stripe publishes its current rates. That is why we always add bank transfer to the mix: it costs you nothing, and plenty of people in Slovakia still prefer it.

Mobile optimization is not about the page fitting on a screen. It is about being able to fill in the form with one hand and the payment not falling apart when someone switches to their banking app. Product management runs through an admin panel where you add products, categories, discounts and stock levels without any coding.

SEO for an online store covers product and category pages, which is where organic traffic actually comes from. Analytics and conversions then show you the step where people drop off. We measure in Google Analytics, where a conversion is a completed order, not a page visit. Without that, fixing an online store is guesswork. We covered why a website on its own does not sell in the article on why your website is not bringing in customers.

Shopify, WooCommerce or custom

We build online stores all three ways, so we have no reason to push you toward one. The difference is what you pay every month and where the platform stops you. Here is the comparison, including when we would not recommend a given route.

A comparison of three routes to an online store
ShopifyWooCommerceCustom build
When to choose it You want to start selling as soon as possible and your processes are standard. You already have a WordPress website and want to add selling to it. You have processes a standard platform will not cover.
What you pay on top A monthly subscription to the platform, plus some add-ons. Hosting and add-on licenses, no platform subscription. Hosting only. No subscriptions, no licenses.
Where it hits a limit An unusual process either cannot be done, or takes an expensive add-on. Updates and security have to be someone's job, they do not happen on their own. Higher entry price and a longer timeline.
When we would not recommend it With a complex B2B model or a configurator. You would be paying every month for something that still will not do what you need. When you do not have WordPress and do not want it. Building it just for an online store makes no sense. When you sell ten products with no special requirements. Then it is needlessly expensive.

What matters more than the platform

Whether people come to the store at all and whether they find what they came for. The most expensive platform will not save a website nobody visits, and the cheapest one will not ruin a store with a good product and visibility. We covered why websites do not bring in customers in a separate article.

What it costs

One invoice from us. After that, only a percentage of what you sell.

For building the online store, one-time

  • Custom design, no template
  • Connected payment gateway

A B2B online store with prices for logged-in customers, volume discounts and payment terms starts at 1 490 €.

52,74 €

With a bank transfer, 53.80 €. A transfer costs you nothing, which is why we always offer it alongside card payments.

The rate applies to standard cards from the European Economic Area, cards from outside it cost more. Stripe publishes its current rates. The fee is not ours, it goes straight to the gateway provider.

We give you the exact figure once we know how many products and variants the store will carry and whether it needs a connection to inventory or invoicing. An overview of all our services is in the pricing.

Questions we get before anyone signs

Why does an online store cost more than a website?

A website has one job: to convince. An online store adds the order, the payment, shipping, product management and tracking on top, and every one of those steps is a place where you can lose the customer.

It is not a more expensive website, it is a different kind of build. That is also why the work runs 2 to 4 weeks for a basic online store and longer with a configurator or a B2B section.

What do we need to prepare before you start?

The product database and the photos. Work starts once we have them, because without products there is no way to build categories, search or checkout.

If you do not have photos, we can shoot them, but that gets planned in up front, not halfway through the project.

When is an online store not worth it?

When you have a handful of products and most orders happen over the phone or in person anyway. Then it is cheaper and faster to build a regular website with an order form and leave the online store until volume pushes you into it.

We will tell you that at the start. There is no point selling an online store to someone who has nothing to fill it with.

From 990 € for a basic online store with a payment gateway, a product catalog and shipping. More complex builds with a configurator, a B2B section or multilingual selling are priced by scope. We broke down the range of online store prices in Slovakia in our article on how much an online store costs. The full breakdown is in the pricing.

Within 14 days for a basic online store, 4 to 8 weeks for complex builds with a configurator or a B2B section. Work starts once we have the product database and the photos.

For Slovakia, Stripe and GoPay are the most common. For standard cards from the European Economic Area, Stripe charges a rate of 1.5 % plus 0.25 € per transaction, cards from outside the EEA cost more. On small orders that fixed fee matters more than the percentage: on a 10 € order it makes up a bigger share of the cost than the rate itself. For B2B, a bank transfer and an invoice with payment terms are worth having too.

Yes. A wholesale section with prices for logged-in customers, volume discount thresholds, invoices with payment terms, export delivery across the EU. From 1 490 € depending on scope.

Whatever fits your needs. We usually build on Shopify or WooCommerce, and for specific requirements (B2B, a configurator, unusual processes) we go custom. We always pick what works best for your business, not what is convenient for us.

You do. The store and the customer database belong to you and you can export the data at any time. We do not tie you to us, and if you ever want to leave, you take everything with you.

Yes. We can connect the store to your accounting, inventory or shipping system through an API, so orders, invoices and stock levels run automatically without anyone retyping them.
